Prestigious Engineering Academy announces Investiture of Engr. Prof. Azikiwe Peter Onwualu as President, induction of 10 prominent engineers as fellows + Full names
The Nigerian Academy of Engineering has announced the induction of the Chief Executive Officer of Lonadek Oil and Gas, Dr. Adenike Ibilola Amao, and nine other prominent engineers in Nigeria as fellows of the prestigious academy.
Platforms Africa reports that President of the Academy, Engr. Alex O. Ogedegbe, who announced this through an invitation document, listed names of other inductees to include; Engr. Prof Akindele Folarin ALONGE; Engr. Nebolisa Olisaeloka EMODI; Engr. Christopher Okechukwu OKOYE; and Engr. Prof. Olagoke OLABISI.
Others are Engr. Ademola Isaac OLORUNFEMI; Engr. Prof. Kolawole Juwonlo OSINUBI; Engr. Ali Alimasuya RABIU; Engr. Prof. Winston Oluwole SOBOYEJO; and Engr. Dr. Muhammad Nuru Alhaji YAKUBU, OON.

“The event coming up on Thursday, June 23, will also feature the 2022 Annual Lecture Titled: “ENGINEERING EDUCATION IN NIGERIA, YESTERDAY, TODAY AND TOMMOROW” By Engr. Prof. R. I. SALAWU, FIET, FAS, FNSE, who is a Past President of the Academy, as well as the induction of new fellows.
“Venue of the event is the J. F. Ade Ajayi Auditorium, University of Lagos, Akoka.”
Meanwhile, the news of Amao’s induction has been greeted with jubilation among her colleagues and friends across Africa and the World with many of them pouring eulogies on the diligent and brilliant engineer.
Amao, a prominent member and resource person on Platforms Africa forum, broke the news on the forum of intellectuals, policy moulders and opinion leaders across the continent, on Wednesday.
“Good morning dear Platformers!!!. I would be inducted as Fellow of the Nigerian Academy of Engineering on the 23rd of June. This is such an honour that would bring my late father (who was an Engineer) joy. Thank God for the journey so far,” she wrote on the forum described by members as the Africa intellectual Power House.
“Hearty congratulations on this well-deserved honour,” a veteran journalist and retired General Manager, Communications and Public Affairs, Niger Delta Power Holding Company (NDPHC), Alhaji Yakubu Lawal, wrote on the forum to congratulate Amao.
Another Corporate communication czar, Mr Ozemoya Okordion added; “Congratulations ma’am. 🙏🏽,” just as Mr. Tajudeen Adigun, another veteran journalist and corporate communications expert, wrote; “Congratulations Aunty! This is long expected for those of us that have been admiring your progress since your days at NETCO! I heard CAD technology first from you in 1990s 😂🤣😅 Wish you more wins Ma.”
Two of the globally recognised senior medical doctors who are resource persons on Platforms Africa forum, Dr. Omotuyi MEBAWONDU and Dr. Akin Oyejoko also penned glowing congratulatory messages for Amao.
“A honor well deserved! This truly gladdens our heart! Congratulations Dr Ibilola Amao FNSE,” Mebawondu wrote.
“Congratulations ma,” Oyejoko said while Mr.
Okwy wrote; “Wow. This is a big one! Congratulations Ma’am on this. You are truly a model blazing the trail.”
Team Lead of Platforms Africa, Adeola Yusuf, an award winning journalist, who expressed joy over Amao’s induction, noted that this confirmed high level of resource persoans who are members of the foeum across the World.
